Our bigger and longer term projects need crowd funding. It’s not always about one person doing one big thing… it’s about a lot of people doing many small things together that really makes the difference: little things make big things happen!
To secure excellent, long term teaching staff for our community school children, an in-situ teacher’s accommodation is a very important asset to have. Especially as our school are located in remote locations, the daily commute is not just a ‘walk in the park’. This building will showcase a combination of recycling & living comfort.
As per government guidelines 1 toilet is needed for every 25 children enrolled in school. Sadly that is far from the reality in most Kenyan’s schools. We managed to donate this bottle toilet block already in 2019 but still have a few to go. A great showcase to combine recycling and sanitation in one!
Personal hygiene and menstrual health education have been a great need in the community. There is a great need to support the girls with reusable sanitary towels and menstrual cups, to help prevent monthly school absence amongst young women. This is an ongoing project with trimester budget.
